Ultrasolv® syrup – Mucolytic and Expectorent

Ultrasol® Syrup is a new and unique foimula of potent ingredients for liquefying expelling mucus and alleviating cough.

Each 100 ml contains:

• Guaiphenesin: 2 g
• Carbocysteine: 2.5 g
• Oxomemazine: 0.04 g

Pharmacological properties

Carbocysteine is a potent mucolytic that decreases the viscosity of mucus to facilitate its removal by expectoration.

Its long term use can improve the lung function in patients with chronic bronchitis.

Guaiphenesin is a potent expectorant and mucolytic agent that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of the mucus.

Oxomemazine is a phenothiazine-derivative antihistamine with antitussive action and sedative effect that relieves cough and common colds.

Ultrasol® Syrup with its pleasant caramel flavor is well tolerated by infants, children and adults.

Indications

Ultrasol® Syrup is indicated for:

• Upper respiratory tract infections; nasopharyngitis, laryngitis, tracheitis.
• Respiratory tract irritation by irritants such as excessive smoking vapours.
• Whooping-cough-like night coughs.
• Allergic conditions of the respiratory tracts associated with coughs.
• Acute, subacute and tracheo-bronchitis
• Chronic bronchitis and chronic pulmonary insufficiency.
• Acute and subacute pneumonias due to bacterial or viral infection.

Contraindications

• In patients with known hypersensitivity to any of its components.
• During the first trimester of pregnancy.

Dosage

Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, Ultrasol® Syrup is recommended in the following daily doses with the possibility to increase the evening dose, if needed:

Used with caution:

• In patient with serious G.I.T., renal, hepatic and cardiovascular disorders.
• In children, geriatrics, debilitated patients and nursing women.

Children dosage

• 2-6 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 ml)3 times,
• 6-12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mil 3-4 times.

Adults dosage

1 tablespoonful (15 ml) 3-4 times.

Precautions

Ultrasol® Syrup should be used cautiously in the following situations:

• As some sedation may occur at the start of administration, it may affect the ability to drive oroperate machinery.
• In patients with a history of peptic ulcer.

Ultrasol Syrup is available in bottles of 120 ml.
