Tricogyl tablets & Infusion: Anti-protozoal & Amoebicides

Composition

  • Trichogyl 250 mg. tablets: each tablet contains metronidazole 250 mg.
  • Trichogyl forte 500 mg. tablets: each tablet contains metronidazole 500 mg.
  • Trichogy! 0.5% infusion: each 100 ml. buffered isotonic solution contain metronidazol 500 mg.

Indications

  • G.I.T. amoebiasis (intra and extra intestinal), Giardiasis cystic carriers, pseudo-membraneous colitis, eradicate H.pylori in peptic ulcer.
  • Urogenital: Trichomoniasis, urethritis, vaginitis and bacterial vaginosis.
  • Oro-dental: Ulcerative gingivitis, dry sockets and stomatitis.
  • In surgery: Pre and post operative as a prophylactic and treatment for all anaerobic infections.

Dosage

Trichogyl tablets

Intestinal and Hepatic amoebiasis (Adults dosage): 6-8 tablets 250 mg. daily in divided doses, or 3-4 tablets 500 mg. daily in divided doses. Duration: 5-7 days.

Intestinal and Hepatic amoebiasis (children dosage): One tablet/5 kg. B.wt. in divided doses. Duration: 5-7 days.

Giardiasis(Adults dosage): 2 tablets 250 mg or one tablet 500 mg. Daily. Duration: 7-10 days.

Giardiasis(Children dosage): 1-2 tablets 250 mg. daily. Duration: 7-10 days.

Urethritis & Trichomonas vaginalis : One tablet 250 mg twice daily. Duration: 10 days.

Anaerobic infection: 2 tablets 250 mg. or one tablet 500 mg. three times daily. Duration: 7 days.

Trichogyl I.V. infusion

  • A loading dose of 10 ml./kg. B.wt. infused over one hour.
  • Maintenance dose 7.5 ml./kg. B.wt. infused over one hour every 6 hours.
  • The first maintenance dose should be initiated 6 hours following the initiation of the loading dose, maximum of 4 gm. shouldn’t exceed during 24 hrs period.

Package

  • Trichogyl 250 mg. tablets :Pack of 20 tablets and 1000 tablets (Hospital pack).
  • Trichogyl forte 500 mg. Tablets : Pack of 12 tablets.
  • Trichogyl infusion: Glass of 100 ml 0.5% metronidazole.

Storage

  • Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C.
  • Keep in dry place, protect from light.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Medicament is a product which affects your health, and its consumption contrary to instructions is dangerous for you.
  • Follow strictly the doctor’s prescription, the method of use and the instructions of the pharmacist who sales the medicament.
