Furazone gel -Topical Anti-Bacterial Preparation

Composition

Each 100 gm. contains:

  • Nitrofurazone 0.2 gm.
  • Water soluble base Q.S to 100 gm.

Indication

  • Superficial skin burns (2nd and 3rd degree).
  • Skin wounds and ulcers.
  • For preparation of surfaces before skin graft to prevent microbial contamination.
  • Treatment of scabies.

Precautions

  • Do not use Furazone gel in patients with severe renal failure since nitrofurazone and components of the water soluble base can be absorbed and enters blood circulation.
  • Do not use Furazone gel for prolonged time during pregnancy and lactation

Adminstration

Rub the dressing gently on the affected surface of skin,after cleaning, in a medium thickness layer, this process is repeated 2 times daily or more as required.

Package

Metallic tube contaning 28 gm. and 56gm. gel.

Storage

  • Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C.
  • Keep in dry place, protect from light.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Medicament is a product which affects your health, and its consumption contrary to instructions is dangerous for you.
  • Follow strictly the doctor’s prescription, the method of use and the instructions of the pharmacist who sales the medicament.
  • The doctor and the pharmacist are experts in medicine. It’s benefits and risks.
  • Do not by yourself interrupt the period of treatment prescribed for you.
  • Do not repeat the same prescription without consulting your doctor.
  • Keep medicament out of children reach.
