Folivit Tablet – Anti- Anaemic Vitamin

Composition

Each tablet contains 5 mg. Folic acid.

Indication

  • Megaloblastic anaemia, due to folic acid deficiency and not accompanied with neurological disturbances.
  • Folate deficiency due to inadequate intake, malabsorption syndrome, excessive utilization and increased excretion.
  • Macrocytic anemia not accompanied with neurological disturbances.
  • Prophylaxes of megaloblastic anaemia of pregnancy.

Precautions

  • Shouldn’t be given in undiagnosed megaloblastic anaemia.
  • Use with caution in patients who may have folate- depenent tumors.
  • Shouldn’t be given in pernicious anemia, since it corrects the hematologic manifestations and masks the pernicious anemia while allowing neurologic damage to progress.
  • Large doses of folic acid may cause yellow discoloration of urine.

Dosage

  • Initial Dose: 5 – 15 mg. daily according to the case.
  • Maintenance Dose: 2 – 5mg. daily.

Package

  • Pack of 50 tablets. Each strip of 10 tablets.
  • Pack of 1000 tablets. Each strip of 10 tablets.

Storage

  • Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C.
  • Keep in dry place, protect from light.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Medicament is a product which affects your health, and its consumption contrary to instructions is dangerous for you.
  • Follow strictly the doctor’s prescription, the method of use and the instructions of the pharmacist who sales the medicament.
  • The doctor and the pharmacist are experts in medicine. It’s benefits and risks.
  • Do not by yourself interrupt the period of treatment prescribed for you.
  • Do not repeat the same prescription without consulting your doctor.
  • Keep medicament out of children reach.
