Cotril tablets : Cotrimoxazole – Broad Spectrum chemotherapeutic agent

Composition and pharmaceutical forms

  • Cotril tablets each tablet contains sulphamethoxazole 400 mg.and trimethoprime 80 mg.
  • Cotrile forte tablets: each elongated tablet contains sulphamethoxazole 800 mg.and trimethoprime 160 mg.

Indication

  1. Respiratory system infections: as acute and chronic bronchitis , lung abscess and bronchopneumonia.
  2. E.N.T. infection: as tonsillitis, acute and chronic otitis media and sinusitis.
  3. U.T. infections: as pyelonephritis, pyelitis and cystitis.
  4. Genital system: as prostatitis.
  5. G.I.T infections: as typhoid fever and shigellosis.
  6. Skin infections: as boils, fruncles and skin wound.
  7. Blood diseases: as septicaemiea.

Dosage

  • Cotril tablets: 2 tablets twice daily.
  • Cotrile forte tablets: One tablet twice daily.

Package

Cotril tablets

  • Pack contains 20 tablets in 2 strips, each of 10 tablets.
  • Pack contains 1000 tablets in 100 strips, each of 10 tablets (Hospital pack).

Cotrile forte tablets

Pack contains 12 tablets in two strip.

Storage

  • Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C.
  • Keep in dry place, protect from light.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Medicament is a product which affects your health, and its consumption contrary to instructions is dangerous for you.
  • Follow strictly the doctor’s prescription, the method of use and the instructions of the pharmacist who sales the medicament.
  • The doctor and the pharmacist are experts in medicine. It’s benefits and risks.
  • Do not by yourself interrupt the period of treatment prescribed for you.
  • Do not repeat the same prescription without consulting your doctor.
