✔️ Medically Reviewed by: Dr. Ahmad Baker, PharmD

BUCCAZOLE ORAL GEL is a highly effective topical formulation specifically formulated to prevent and treat fungal infections of oropharyngeal [relating to the mouth and pharynx] mucosa particularly oral candidiasis (thrush) [a fungal infection of the mouth and throat caused by Candida yeast].

Composition

Each 100 g contains: Miconazole (base) 2 g

Properties

BUCCAZOLE (miconazole) ORAL GEL is a highly effective topical formulation specifically formulated to prevent and treat fungal infections of oropharyngeal [relating to the mouth and pharynx] mucosa particularly oral candidiasis (thrush) [a fungal infection of the mouth and throat caused by Candida yeast]. BUCCAZOLE ORAL GEL possesses a broad spectrum activity against pathogenic [disease-causing] fungi and Gram-positive bacteria [a type of bacteria that retains the Gram stain in laboratory testing] including Staphylococci [a genus of bacteria that can cause a variety of infections] and Streptococci [a genus of bacteria that can cause a variety of infections] species. Miconazole interferes with ergosterol synthesis [a crucial component of fungal cell membranes] of fungal cell membrane and alters its permeability resulting in leakage of the vital constituents from fungal cells with eventual cell death. BUCCAZOLE ORAL GEL is poorly absorbed from mucosa [the mucous membrane lining body cavities and canals], thus it ensures high local concentration at the affected area with rapid relief of the manifestations of local fungal infections. BUCCAZOLE ORAL GEL produces clinical and mycological [relating to the study of fungi] cure without causing the side effects commonly encountered with systemic antifungal medications. BUCCAZOLE ORAL GEL is safe, well tolerated and palatable, and is the drug of choice for use in infants, children, adults and the elderly.
