How does Ventocough syrup work?

Each 5ml of Ventocough syrup contains the following active ingredients:

  • 1 mg salbutamol: Salbutamol acts on receptors in the lungs called beta-2 receptors, and when salbutamol stimulates these receptors, it causes the bronchial muscles to relax, allowing the airways to open and facilitate the passage of air through them, which reflects on the breathing to be easier and more comfortable.
  • 2 mg bromhexine: Bromhexine belongs to a class of drugs called (Mucolytics). Bromhexine reduces the viscosity of bronchial secretions (reduces the viscosity of phlegm), and thus it facilitates the expulsion of these secretions (phlegm) to the outside, and this effect leads to a reduction in the severity of Cough.
  • 50 mg guaifenesin: Guaifenesin works by reducing the viscosity of bronchial secretions (reduce the viscosity of phlegm), and reduce their adhesion to the bronchi by reducing the surface tension of sputum, and thus it facilitates the process of expelling these secretions (phlegm) to the outside, and this effect leads to a reduction in the severity of attacks Coughing up, Guaifenesin, with its expectorant effect, helps make phlegm softer and loosens bronchial secretions, and this helps to facilitate the removal of mucous substances (secretions).
