About Rofenac Suppositories

How Rofenac Works

Rofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that effectively combats inflammation, pain, and fever. It achieves this by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, which are substances that contribute to these symptoms.

Dosage and Administration

For Adults:

  • The initial daily dose is usually 100-150 mg, with a maximum of 150 mg.
  • Dosage may be divided into 2-3 doses per day.
  • For certain conditions like dysmenorrhea, the daily dosage should be individually adapted, ranging from 50-150 mg.

For Children:

  • Children aged 1 year and above may be given 0.5-2 mg/kg body weight daily.
  • For juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, the maximum dosage may be raised to 3 mg/kg body weight.
  • Rofenac is not recommended for children under 12 months.
