Repatha (evolocumab) 140 or 420 mg solution for subcutaneous injection

Repatha injection (active ingredient name: evolocumab) is used along with diet, alone or in combination with other cholesterol-lowering medications to treat adults with familial hypercholesterolemia (an inherited disorder in which cholesterol cannot be removed from the body properly). Repatha decreases the amount of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in the blood.

Repatha injection can also be used in adults with cardiovascular disease to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack,or life-threatening vascular disease. The goal of treatment with Repatha injections in this group of patients is to prevent the build-up of fat on the artery walls (a process known as atherosclerosis), this facilitates blood flow in the arteries, and improves the supply of oxygen to the heart, brain and other parts of the body.

Repatha injections work by blocking the production of harmful cholesterol in the body and thus reducing the amount of cholesterol that may build up on the artery walls. The buildup of cholesterol along the walls of your arteries (a process known as atherosclerosis) reduces blood flow and, in turn, the supply of oxygen to your heart, brain and other parts of your body.
