Dosage & Administration
- Children 1-5 years: 1-2 teaspoonful (5-10 ml) daily.
- Children 5-12 years: 2-3 teaspoonful (10-15 ml) daily.
Properties & pharmacological action
Each 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) contains: 1500 UI Vitamin A— 150 UI Vitamin D3— 2.5 mg Thiamine Hcl (Vit B1)— 3.18 mg Riboflavin 5-phosohate sodium— 2.5 mg eq. to Riboflavin (Vit B2)— 0.75 mg Pyridoxine (Vit B6)— 37.5 mg Ascorbic acid (Vit C)— 2.5 mg DL-a-Tocopherol acetate (Vit E)— 1.5 μg Cyanocobalamin (Vit B12)— 2.15 mg Dexpanthenol— 12.5 mg Nicotinamide— 25 μg Biotin (vit H).
Rainbow vit is a well-balanced formula providing a combination of important fat soluble and water soluble vitamins.
Vitamin A is essential for the functioning of the immune system, healthy skin and mucous membrane. It promotes healthy surface lining of the eyes, respiratory, urinary and intestinal tracts. It also prevents and fights off infection.
Vitamin D3 regulates calcium and phosphorus levels and promotes bone formation and mineraliza tion. Therefore, it prevents vitamin D deficiency rickets.
Vitamin B-complex has several functions as playing an important role in carbohydrate metabolism where child with high refined sugar and starch diet may deplete those important B vitamins. Also it’s important to prevent the abnormal neurological and psychiatric symptoms.
Also vitamin B6 is needed for more than 100 enzymes involved in protein metabolism. It helps to increase the amount of O2 carried by hemoglobin.
Vitamin C is important for immune system and connective tissue formation. Also it’s crucial for brain function. Children exposed to the cigarette smoke always have the lowest level of vitamin C as their vitamin C stores are used to overcome the smoke free radicals.
Vitamin E is a powerful biological antioxidant, neuroprotective and have immune boosting activity.
Biotin can reduce growing pain in children and muscle cramps. Biotin deficiency affects also their physical and mental development. Biotin deficiency shows the signs of brittle nails, thinning of hair and red or scaly skin. Moreover biotin has the activity of management of uncombable hair syndrome. Biotin should be supplemented with malabsorption syndrome or prolonged egg row consumption.
Contraindications
Rainbow vit is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. As all Vitamin D containing preparations, Rainbow vit should not be taken with hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria or renal malfunction.
Side effects
No side effects have been observed when Rainbow vit is used within the prescribed dose. The symptoms of vitamin overdose includes: headache, irritability, anorexia, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Precautions
Rainbow vit is preferred to be used under medical supervision as the long-term administration or exceeding the recommended dose may cause vitamin D over dosage unless prescribed by physician.

Inactive ingredients: Sodium benzoate, liquid fructose, glycerin, sorbitol 70%, xanthan gum, tween 20, acesulfame potassium, orange liquid flavour, lemon liquid flavour, citric acid monohydrate, monosodium glutamate and sodium chloride.

Carton box containing amber glass bottle type 2 containing 120 ml syrup closed with white polypropylene cap containing polyethylene foam liner (LDPE) and an inner insert.
Storage
Store at temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
Instructions to patients
Yellowish coloration of the urine may be observed after Rainbow vit administration due to its vitamin B2 content which is completely harmless. Rainbow vit can be mixed with water or fruit juice but not preferred with milk or other dairy products.
