Modapex 50 mg tablets


Each tablet contain: Sertraline 50 mg.


Sertraline is a potential antidepressant compound.

It has been shown to be a potent highly selective inhibitor of serotonin (5-HT) uptake, and to be devoid of the anticholinergic and cardiovascular side effects commonly associated with conventional antidepressant drugs.

Sertraline possess tolerability advantage over tricyclic antidepressants.


  • Modapex is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of depression in patients with or without history of mania.
  • Modapex is also indicated for the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder.

Dosage & Administration

One tablet once daily either in the morning or in the evening.


Modapex should not be used in combination with MAO inhibitors (symptoms of neuroleptic malignant syndrome appear) & even after discontinuing drug by 14 days.

The safety & effectiveness of Modapex in children have not been established.

The drug is not recommended for child bearing potential & lactating women.

Side Effects

Nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, tremor dizziness, insomnia, somnolence, increase sweating, dry mouth, male sexual dysfunction (principally ejaculatory delay).
