Composition
Each ER capsule contain: Ketoprofen 200 mg.
Properties
Ketoprofen shares the pharmacological properties of other propionic acid derivatives. Although it is a cyclooxygenase inhibitor, Ketoprofen is said to stabilize lysosomal membranes and it may antagonize the action of bradykinin.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and acute gouty arthritis. It is also used as analgesic for acute tendinitis and bursitis.
Dosage & Administration
One capsule daily after breakfast or at bed time.
Contra-Indications
- Ketoprof is contraindicated in cases of sensitivity to any of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents, also for patients with active peptic ulceration or history of recurrent peptic ulceration.
- Ketoprof is also contraindicated in bronchial asthma, pregnancy & lactation.
