Composition: Each soft gelatin capsule contains:

• Essential phospholipids 300 mg.
• Vitamin B3 (nicotinamide) 30 mg.
• Vitamin B1 (thiamine mononitrate) 6 mg.
• Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) 6 mg.
• Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine Hcl) 6 mg.
• Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) 6 μg.
• Vitamin E (tocopherol acetate) 6 mg.

Pharmacological properties

• Promote reconstitution of the damaged liver tissues through its content of essential phospholipids, which are the major structural components of cell membranes.
• Prevent fatty liver infiltration through its contents of vitamin B12 and choline of the phospholipids.
• Play an important role in formation of acetylcholine, and has lipotropic effect through choline of the phospholipids.
• Provide energy through vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12 which play crucial roles in several metabolic pathways.
• Protect the cells from the damaging effect of the free radicals through its vitamin E content.
• Preserve the bile in a soluble state decreasing the incidence of gallbladder stones.

Pharmacokinetics

Hepato-Forte is rapidly and completely absorbed from gastrointestinal tract, and excess vitamins excreted mainly in urine.

Indication

As a liver supplement for patients with acute and chronic liver disorders e.g. viral, alcoholic, toxic hepatitis or which is associated with irradiation syndromes, such as:

• Fatty liver degeneration.
• Cholestasis and fatty liver with pregnancy.
• Prevention of gall stone formation and improve associated dyspepsia.
• As an adjuvant therapy for patients with psoriasis.

Contraindication

no contraindication for taking this medication.

Side effect

Diarrhea is rarely observed in accidental over dosage.

Drug interaction

No drug- drug interactions.

Pregnancy and lactation

No evidence of risk in human, can be prescribed under supervision of physician.

Instruction to patients

• No special precautions are needed when taking this medication.
• Store at room temperature and keep out of children.

Dosage and administration

1-2 capsules three times daily or as directed by the physician
