Controloc: What is it and how does it work?

Controloc is a prescription medication that belongs to a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). PPIs work by reducing the amount of acid produced by the stomach.

How Controloc works

Controloc is absorbed into the stomach where it is converted into its active form. The active form of Controloc binds to and inhibits the action of an enzyme called H+/K+ ATPase, or the proton pump. This enzyme is responsible for the final step in the production of stomach acid. By inhibiting the proton pump, Controloc stops the production of stomach acid.

What conditions is Controloc used to treat?

Controloc is used to treat a variety of conditions related to stomach acid, including:

  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): GERD is a condition in which stomach acid backs up into the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms. Controloc can help to reduce the amount of acid that backs up into the esophagus, relieving heartburn and other GERD symptoms.
  • Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection: H. pylori is a bacteria that can live in the stomach and cause ulcers. Controloc can be used in combination with antibiotics to treat H. pylori infections.
  • Peptic ulcer disease (PUD): PUD is a condition in which an ulcer forms in the stomach or small intestine. Controloc can be used to treat PUD, including ulcers caused by H. pylori infection.
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (ZES): ZES is a rare condition in which the body produces too much stomach acid. Controloc can be used to treat ZES to reduce the amount of stomach acid produced.

Who should not take Controloc?
