Antiflu Capsules: Relieving Cold and Allergy Symptoms

Antiflu is a medication used to treat symptoms of the common cold and allergies. It contains three active ingredients:

  • Ibuprofen: This is a fever reducer and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), thus preventing the synthesis of prostaglandins.
  • Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride: This component acts as a vasoconstrictor, helping to reduce nasal congestion.
  • Chlorpheniramine Maleate: It’s an antihistamine, which aids in reducing allergy symptoms such as runny nose and sneezing.


Antiflu is used for alleviating the following symptoms:

  • Common cold symptoms like headache, pain, fever, runny nose, nasal congestion, and sore throat.
  • Allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, itching in the nose and eyes.

Dosage and Administration

The usual dosage for adults is one or two capsules three times daily, with a maximum of six capsules daily.


Do not use Antiflu in the following cases:

  • If you are allergic to any of the medication’s components.
  • If you have high blood pressure or heart conditions.
  • If you have liver or kidney diseases.
  • If you have an enlarged prostate or thyroid gland disorders.
  • If you have narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Antiflu include:

  • Increased heart rate.
  • Elevated blood pressure.
  • Dry mouth, nose, and throat.
  • Gastrointestinal disturbances like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Dizziness.

Potential serious side effects of Antiflu may include:

  • Hypersensitivity reactions, such as skin rash and difficulty breathing.
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Liver or kidney problems.
  • Heart issues.


  • Do not use Antiflu along with other medications containing sympathomimetics, like cold medications or weight loss drugs.
  • Avoid using Antiflu in the first three months of pregnancy unless under a doctor’s supervision.
  • Do not use Antiflu for children under six years of age.
  • Refrain from driving or operating machinery while taking this medication.

Packaging and Storage

Antiflu is available in packages containing 2 or 3 strips, with each strip containing 10 capsules.

Store Antiflu in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C (86°F).
